Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Santa Monica, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (424) 699-1300. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, eatdrinkfitoor.com.

Fitoor is the best modern Indian restaurant in Santa Monica. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, and every dish is thoughtfully prepared with perfectly balanced flavors. We started with the Andhra Chili Chicken and the Malabar Pepper Lamb Chops, both of which had just the right amount of spice. For our mains, the Butter Chicken and Chicken Dum Biryani were rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. To finish, the Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée was outstanding—a creative twist on a classic dessert and easily one of the best you'll find.

Food was fantastic. Great flavors, good portions. Servers were on top of it and had good recommendations. Indoor as well as patio seating. Highlights food-wise were the chicken tikka, truffle mushroom kulcha, and daal. The Seekh lamb kebab was a little too spicy for me but if you like spice then you’ll love it.

If you are in a mood for Indian fine dining, you must try Fitoor. We had a great experience. We started with Aamras drink and ordered Avocado chaat and butten chicken kulcha. It was absolutely delicious. Avocado chat came on a piece of half cut avocado with pretty presentation. But what i loved loved loved was their Dal Makhani. I don't easily get good punjabi style authentic Dal Makhani in US. So, it was the highlight for me. And we ended the meal with coffee waffle cone and Miso ice cream. It was so delicious that i'll go again just for this! The servers were nice and friendly and we liked the ambience too.

We reserved a patio table after having looked at the pictures posted of their beautiful patio, but instead they tried to seat us at some dingy makeshift patio made in a space smaller than a walk-in closet. They seated us inside. Better than the dingy patio, but not what we reserved. Food was good. This was our 2nd time being here and we can say for sure now that we will not be going back. The avocado chaat needed more texture, it was like guacamole being served without chips, cumin rice were overpowering with cumin. Cumin is supposed to be an accent flavor to the rice, not a dominant slap in the face. The ghost lamb shewarma was good meat but overly marinated. In terms of service, after we were seated, within less than a 10 minute span 4 different people came an asked us if we were ready to order. Overall vibe is for superficial instagramers. Food is presented beautifully for pictures, interior decor is great for pictures, but this place lacks substance. Oh and the valet was blocked with parked cars, we pulled up, valet guy made no effort to come to us, we ended up self parking. The valet should have an area coned off to allow people to get in and out of their cars safel
